We are seeking a Training & Development Instructional Designer\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of performance\-based training interventions/initiatives typically in a technical training field\.
+ Serve as an instructional design expert, utilizing your expertise in current and/or emerging technologies and advanced learning sciences to meet/exceed business outcomes\.
+ Utilize your project management skills to oversee all elements of the design project to assure its success\.
+ Help the Sandia National Laboratory community advance learning science standard methodologies\.
+ Routinely develop training interventions from task analysis through the evaluation process\.
+ Review and revise instructional content to meet customer needs, expectations, and changing requirements\.
+ Spend time evaluating the effectiveness of training and/or learning programs and related initiatives to determine their effectiveness and improve their performance\.
+ Asked to work as a contributing team member by improving your personal capabilities as well as help advance those of our team\.
+ Consult, negotiate and work towards an effective development solution while improving the internal customer relationship\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in instructional design or other relevant discipline plus 7 years of relevant experience\.

Desired:

+ Masters degree in instructional design/instruction technologies/instructional psychology, or closely related degree plus 7\+ years direct experience in developing learning interventions\.
+ Active DOE/DOD security clearance\.
+ Expertise in crafting e\-learning interventions\.
+ Multimedia experience\-gamification\.
+ Experience in needs analysis/design development in a technical environment\.

Department Description:

Technical and Compliance Training Department, 3521, within the Human Resources Center, has corporate responsibility for technical and compliance education and training products & services to support Laboratories' customer business objectives\. Additionally, the department provides consulting services to Sandians to improve their job and organizational performance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
