The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites candidates for a full-time (academic year) tenure-track or tenured position at the assistant professor rank in the area of bio-logistics. Special consideration may be given to exceptional candidates at the rank of associate or full professor. Selection of rank will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The supply of feeds, foods, and fibers to the consumer is becoming recognized as an essential dimension of Agricultural Engineering. Operations research and logistical engineering are skills needed to handle and transport biological materials to consumers in a timely manner. The University of Georgia has developed a Bio-Logistics track within the Agricultural Engineering degree program that capitalizes on skills of industrial engineering and agricultural engineering. Bio-Logistics provides a forward-looking emphasis area that provides a pathway for research and teaching the movement of food, feed, and fiber from the farm gate to the consumer. Operations research, motion and time studies, and quality management are a significant focus, with emphasis on the handling of biological materials through a logistics chain. Successful candidates will join a growing and interdisciplinary team of researchers and educators in the School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering (ECAM). The candidate will be expected to 1) contribute to the Agricultural Engineering program’s emphasis on Bio-Logistics, 2) develop courses and pedagogical approaches to educate UGA engineers, and 3) partner with faculty in other disciplines and with industries and government to build a vibrant research program that leads to collaborations across and integration of multiple fields of study.
