We are seeking an experienced technical project manager to support development of navigation, guidance, control, and autonomy technology solutions to support R&D Offensive and Defensive military systems within the Integrated Military Systems Program at Sandia\. On any given day your responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to:

+ Supporting the customer interface
+ Assisting in the definition of program scope, budget, schedule; and reporting program performance
+ General oversight of mission assurance, requirements & risk management, and change control
+ Travel to customer sites


+ You have a bachelors degree in engineering plus five or more years of experience\.
+ You bring a minimum of five years of technical project management experience\.
+ Your background includes knowledge of, and experience with, standard project management practices for technical work including project plan development and control, scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, project staffing, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management\.
+ You will have proficiency in tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities\.
+ You will achieve PMP or equivalent certification within one year of hire\.
+ You can obtain and maintain a Q Clearance\.


Your background should also include:

+ Active Q or DOD clearance\.
+ Demonstrated experience in system engineering and technical project management processes: lifecycle management, requirements engineering, configuration management, risk management, verification and validation, etc\.
+ Experience in creating processes, developing and instantiating tools to optimize technical management of projects\.
+ Solid ability to integrate, build, and work effectively across technical teams, collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve issues, and conduct trade\-offs to identify system solutions\.
+ Experience with or a working understanding of quality processes, methodologies and approaches to deliver products and services, such as: INCOSE, AS9100, ISO, CMMI, DAU, CMII, and Agile \(SCRUM\)\.
+ Experience with Earned Value Management \(EVM\)\.
+ Experience working with the government agencies, specifically the DoD\.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead projects involving substantial resources \($1M/year or greater\)
+ Project management education and certification\(s\)\.
+ Experience managing technology transfer from R&D to industry\.
+ Ability to make decisions requiring scientific or engineering discernment across more than one discipline\.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills\.
+ Ability to effectively communicate across technical, project controls, and business disciplines\.
+ Ability to work with management at all levels\.

Department Description:

The Navigation Guidance and Control \(NGC\) II Department 05427 provides technology solutions and support to both Offensive and Defensive Military Systems development projects within the Integrated Military Systems Program at Sandia\. Hardware and software technologies are developed, integrated, and tested to provide flight control solutions for missiles and hypersonic reentry platforms\. Typically, these systems support the Missile Defense Agency, Army, Navy, and other Department of Defense Agencies\. Our programs cover a broad spectrum of applications; from advanced aerodynamically controlled vehicles dropped from aircraft, to maneuvering hypersonic warheads, to ballistic missile systems\. All the activities require the extensive use of real time embedded computers and custom real\-time software for the realization of affiliated fully\-integrated flight control system solutions\. The NGC group is significantly involved in modeling and simulation activities in support of these same application areas as well as activities for the Sandia Space Mission Program\. The department strives to provide leadership to the Laboratory and the Nation in the creative development, use, and application of both NGC and mod/sim technologies\. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
