SALARY DETAILS:

$94,018 - $107,503 annually / Exempt position / 12-month work year

IN THIS ROLE:

You will assist district staff and students with connecting to business and industry in a meaningful way to help prepare all students for careers. You will carry out a regional plan that will support STEM integrated content development based on real-world examples, professional development to support educators, and in-class coaching to support teachers and students in the implementation of relevant, problem-based content.

 

WHAT WE NEED:

You will plan and provide professional development to educators that meet K-12 core academic standards and industry needs as well as partnership development with business and industry to support our local district needs to get ALL students ready for college and careers. We are seeking an energetic, collaborative team member to design, develop and deploy STEM Trailer activities, lead OCCRA design and planning teams and provide consultation to local districts for system-wide initiatives.

 

You will promote State-Approved CTE throughout the county via integration of career readiness into STEM curriculum and create professional development for in-person, hybrid, and/or online deployment.

 

 

In addition, you will market department services to local schools, teachers, and community members and will create Engineering resources to enrich K-12 Science curriculum and support to local districts by providing access to engineering professionals. The integration of engineering is a required part of the Michigan Science Standards.

 

Standard work hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a variable schedule requiring some evening and weekend hours which will be determined based on district’s needs.

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Valid Michigan teacher certification and/or vocational endorsement required.
  • Work experience as an Engineer (Mechanical, Civil, Product, etc.), Technical Training & Development presenter, or Entrepreneur (Technical business preferred).
  • Minimum of (5) years combined teaching, counseling, and/or consulting experience.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to Oakland Schools Technical Campuses and local school districts throughout Oakland County.

 

 

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

$94,018 - $107,503 annually
