Our team is seeking a highly motivated Software Systems Engineer to be part of delivering ITSM services. The focus for the position will be as a technical contributor to the development, delivery and support of the tools.

As the successful candidate, you should be familiar with various development technologies and have both breadth and depth of knowledge in multiple information system domains. This team works closely with the other teams within 10771 and across the IT community to integrate, partner, and identify solutions and improvements that contribute to the success of ITSM delivery to Sandia. + Bachelors degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline, or equivalent:

- experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job.
+ You will have understanding of the technical aspects of the BMC suite of tools being used and developed.
+ You will have demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: BMC ITSM Suite, specifically MyIT/SmartIT, Digital Workplace, Change, Incident, Knowledge, CMDB and Problem Management.
+ Active DOE L- level security clearance is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Level security clearance.


+ Experience with the ITIL framework and agile Scrum methodology.
+ Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines.
+ Strong teamwork and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to develop functional test plans and perform testing.
+ Possess a firm understanding of the Sandia classified and unclassified environments.
+ Ability to work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
+ Ability to establish standards for development and maintenance of new and existing products.
+ Familiarity with cloud and container technologies.

The primary mission of department 10771, Enterprise Service Management Enabling Solutions, is to develop and maintain a big picture, end-to-end view of operational IT services. We blend IT Service Management tools and best-practice ITIL processes to lead improvements in IT Service Management. Our portfolio includes automated discovery, performance and availability monitoring, enterprise and mission testing, a central tool suite with a service asset repository that supports all ITSM processes, including mature service catalog, request fulfillment, incident management, knowledge management, problem management, change management, service asset and configuration management, and event management practices.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
