The Product Delivery team within Payment Services, Global Products and Partnerships division is responsible for developing, managing and implementing advanced payment products across Discover Financial Services.

He/she leads and transforms team operations within a complex global landscape. Owns the creation and execution of product delivery strategy for advanced payment products including but not limited to EMV, Contactless (NFC), Transit, 3DS, and QR Code with a variety of regional payment partners (Issuers, Acquirers, Gateways, etc).

*This role can be located in Riverwoods (IL) or Phoenix (AZ).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure product delivery goals are met by providing SME support to internal and external partners to deliver against the strategy.
  • Define and align product delivery approach and goals for the region across key business partners including senior leaders, and manage clear communications around progress against strategy.
  • Directs and leads a team including the analyzing of workflows, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines. Partners with the team, management, and vendors to define roadmaps, solicit cooperation, and resolve problems.
  • Develops or updates project plans for information technology projects, including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Manage implementation budget; including driving strategy for incentive plan and aligning prioritization of incentive spend across leadership teams.
  • Represent DFS at industry and client events, and prepare and deliver SME-level presentations to all levels of internal and external management.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Informationa Technology, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in People Management, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in EMV, Banking, Payments, Certification, smart cards, contactless NFC, QR code, or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in EMV, Banking, Payments, Certification, smart cards, contactless NFC, QR code, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in EMV, Banking, Payments, Certification, smart cards, contactless NFC, QR code, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to be disruptive, including identifying new and innovative ways to execute against existing problems. Must demonstrate a track record of thought leadership and innovative thinking relating to successful technology implementation.
  • An inspiring leader who can balance tactical and strategic responsibilities and drive results under intense pressure.
  • Flexibility in schedule to support interaction with clients and partners globally.
  • Must have extensive payments experience, including experience with EMV, Transit, 3DS, and QR Code
  • Must have successfully led and implemented large, business critical projects with a significant number of work group members and large budget
  • Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to effectively deliver information to internal and external constituents at all levels
  • Must possess outstanding client management skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to understand complex technical concepts and to propose new, innovative solutions
  • Must be able to travel internationally
  • Strong PC competency (MS Office products, Visio, and Microsoft Project)
  • Fluent Spanish speaker
