Provide Mechanical Engineering support to Facilities Services and other groups outside of Facilities Services. Expertise in mechanical systems, plumbing systems, energy efficiency, water efficiency, sustainability and life cycle cost analysis services.
- Assist in the development of the scope of work and cost estimate for projects requiring mechanical/plumbing service modification or installation
- Collaborate with project managers in scope development and project estimates
- Complete mechanical/plumbing studies to determine feasibility for expansion or modification required to maintain safety
- Provide design review of design documents and reports prepared by outside consultants and give guidance regarding Facilities Services' expectations
- Provide mechanical and plumbing design solutions to solve problems when required
- Provide in-house designs for mechanical/plumbing systems modifications in small projects that can be completed internally and meet construction schedule
- Provide Mechanical Engineering assistance for Facilities Services' Sustainability Projects when required
- Conduct inspections of mechanical and plumbing system installations for Facilities Services' projects
- Develop written procedures where required to conduct mechanical and plumbing tests and inspections
- Review Methods of Procedure (MOP) Documents prepared by contractors and provide guidance regarding Facilities Services expectations
Requirements
Education: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or State Professional Engineering Registration
Five years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice for the senior level
Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver's license
