We are seeking a R&D S&E, Systems Engineer with a systems engineering and process development background to join the B61\-12 AF integration team as the F\-35 and B\-21 lead\. The B61\-12 is entering final phases of qualification and will be integrated onto two additional platforms over the next 8 years\. $30 million of funding is in place for this work with additional funding secured in the out years\. The position includes working on the day to day execution early phases of F\-35 and B\-21 integration programs as well as scoping and cost estimating for future phases of work\. The team consists of engineers working across SNL including aircraft integration, modeling and simulation, flight testing, ground testing, and hardware and assembly\. The role will be a mix of technical and programmatic leadership and execution of tasks\. This position also includes partnering closely with the AF Integration Lead to support the broad portfolio of AF integration tasks\. This will include helping to ensure readiness for quarterly PMR, monthly status reports, technical interchange meetings, and weekly AF interactions\. The F\-35 and B\-21 lead will be required to coordinate and work across the nuclear security enterprise

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Be a core member of the AF integration team to lead technical staff across multiple organizations, project controllers and project managers to execute currently funded scope F\-35 and B\-21 scope to meet contract requirements
+ Work with systems engineers from multiple AF, SNL, and LANL organizations to define scope for future phases of F\-35 and B\-21 work
+ Lead technical issues across a broad range of technical disciplines to integration a qualified B61\-12 onto new platforms\.
+ Execute document management and release for AF Integration related activities\.

Required:

+ Masters degree in a STEM discipline \(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math\) plus five years relevant experience
+ Experience with DOD or DOE programs
+ Active US DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance

Desired:

+ NW project leadership experience
+ AF project leadership experience
+ Project management certification and experience
+ Self\-motivated, positive individual comfortable working in a fast\-paced environment
+ Familiarity with the NW drawing system \(IMS, EAWeb, etc\)\.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products\.
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment alongside a diverse workforce\.
+ Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic team environment while pursuing individual tasks in a self\-directed manner\.
+ Flexible and keen to customer needs\.
+ Current & active DOE Q\-level security clearance\.

Department Description:

The B61\-12 System Engineering Department has systems engineering and design responsibilities for the overall B61\-12 design\. Responsibilities include definition of the arming, fuzing, and firing system as well as the nuclear safety and use control architectures and implementation\. Aircraft and tailkit interface definition are 2152 responsibility\. Requirements and oversight activities are provided to multiple organizations and teams through this department\. We are currently in Phase 6\.3, Development Engineering, working toward system qualification and FPU of the system in 2020\.

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance to start\.

Position requires an active Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance or active clearance with another US government agency, e\.g\., DOD, to be considered for this position\.
