We are seeking a RF engineer and researcher for designing and developing advanced integrated circuit products\. The work will focus on RFIC/MMIC/SoC designs for a variety of projects including highly\-integrated receivers, transmitters, power amplifiers, and unique sensors\. You will design within our internal radiation\-hardened technologies as well as state\-of\-the\-art external foundries\. The foundry work will primarily include CMOS & BiCMOS technologies in collaboration with III\-V semiconductor design engineers\. You will play a key technical role in developing new ideas and proposals for research activities for the department\. You will be expected to contribute within a team for developing new ideas and proposals, as well as executing on their work\. In addition, you will at times be responsible for testing and characterizing new devices and technologies\.

Required:

+ You have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with an emphasis on RF design and/or high\-speed analog/mixed\-signal design\.
+ Experience in RFIC or high\-speed analog/mixed\-signal design, layout, characterization, or test\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance\.

Desired:

Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

+ PhD in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with research in an RF and/or high\-speed analog/mixed\-signal area\.
+ Experience with designing direct\-digital synthesis \(DDS\), digital\-RF\-memory \(DRFM\), analog\-to\-digital converters \(ADC\), digital\-to\-analog converters \(DAC\), and digital signal processing \(DSP\) blocks\.
+ Experience designing LNA, mixer, power\-amplifier, filter, high\-speed analog, and/or PLL blocks\.
+ Experience in integrated circuit design software like Cadence, Mentor, or ADS\.
+ Experience designing in CMOS or BiCMOS \(SiGe\)\.
+ Strong interpersonal skills which include teamwork, effective leadership, negotiation, delegation, conflict resolution and the ability to work in a diverse team environment\.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, including the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, reports, and documentation\.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing new ideas and proposals\.
+ Experience developing complex microsystem solutions including analog, digital, RF, and other technologies\.
+ Experience in high\-speed RF testing including probe, packaged part, and system testing\.

Department Description:

The RF & Opto Microsystems department performs research, design, modeling, characterization, and qualification of RF and Optical Microsystems\. We have a focus on RF and optical Microsystems, as well as specialty wireless sensors and RFICs\. We have capabilities for developing prototype hardware to fully qualified systems\. We provide unique solutions to our customers in nuclear weapons, DoD, non\-proliferation agencies, and subsystem departments \(SAR, surety, & ISR\)\. Our research interest include advanced RF sensors as well as communication and radar devices unique to national security applications\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
