+ Lead technical efforts related to systems/subsystems\-level testing and production support of our SAR systems that include board level design and production through system level integration and test\. Your diverse engineering/problem\-solving skillset is critical for these tasks\.
+ Perform work that may cover a wide range of activities including electronic design tasks, aircraft integration design work, electromechanical system testing and troubleshooting, and test of flight systems in support of SAR system development and deployment\. You should have a background in electrical engineering with emphasis on production, design, analysis, and test\.
+ Perform requirements analysis and definition, trade studies, design analysis, interface design & assessment, integrated system test planning, system verification & validation, and configuration management\.
+ Direct work that is rooted in the fundamentals of science and engineering while applying a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles\.
+ Conduct testing and analysis of SAR systems/component performance\.
+ Work as part of a high performing, passionate, multi\-disciplinary team\. Teamwork and collaboration is important in this group\.
+ You will work closely with other staff, both inside and outside the department, to support interesting and innovative work in technology development, test planning and execution, interpret results\.


+ You have an advanced degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or relevant discipline; OR equivalent education and experience with the demonstrated ability to utilize the fundamental concepts of this discipline\.
+ Your background demonstrates experience in analog and digital circuit testing, production, troubleshooting, integration and testing of electrical, electromechanical, and/or RF systems\.
+ You have the ability to obtain and maintain US DOE Q security clearance\.


Ideally, your background will also include some of the following:

+ You are proficient in electrical test equipment and RF systems would be valuable\.
+ You bring strong debugging/problem\-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills and be creative based on project needs\.
+ Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal, and partnership skills with the ability to lead teams in a high functioning environment\.
+ You have the ability to work in a team environment with staff, technologists, and support personnel\.
+ You have strong teamwork skills, combined with an ability to take broad direction and implement technical activities without detailed guidance or oversight\.
+ Your experience includes engineering design \(taking an idea from concept through demonstration and/or delivery\)\.
+ Your background demonstrates the ability to independently resolve and develop innovative approaches to solutions to a diverse range of problems\.
+ You are eager to work in a multi\-disciplinary team environment and have the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects\.
+ You can obtain and maintain a Class 3 Flight Physical and desire to support flight testing\.
+ Demonstrated communication and teaming skills\.
+ You have system integration and test experience\.
+ You have an active DOE Q Clearance or DoD TS Clearance\.
+ You can obtain and maintain an active SCI clearance\.

Department Description:

The ISR Next Generation Systems team, works within Sandias RF Remote Sensing Business area to develop and field high\-performance synthetic aperture radar \(SAR\) systems\. Our department specializes in technical pursuits including system design and development, project management, field\- and flight\-test, and applications engineering\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre\-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
