We are seeking a Product Realization Team \(PRT\) Lead to lead the W80\-4 Warhead Control Unit team\. You should be a self\-directed and customer focused individual who has strong interpersonal, teaming, leadership, and analytical skills\. You will join a high performing technical team to achieve design, development, qualification, and delivery\. The product is designed to meet demanding performance specifications, offer extremely high reliability, and meet stringent survivability requirements in adverse environments\. Your principal responsibility is the realization \(design through production support\) of the MC5091 and smooth transfer into production\.

On any given day, your tasks may include, but may not be limited to:

+ Providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team to ensure the success of the team;
+ Ensuring timely and effective communication with the PRT, Systems \(and external\) customers, sub\-components \(ASICs, COTs, etc\), Kansas City National Security Campus \(KCNSC\), and management as the primary point\-of\-contact \(POC\) for the PRT;
+ Coordinating with other organizations to negotiate project requirements and tasks;
+ Identify the resources required to support PRT objectives and collaborating with customers, PRT members, and the Project Manager to establish work scope and budget and maintain Earned Value Management \(EVM\) metrics;
+ Developing presentation material for, and presenting at, customer \(internal and external\) reviews;
+ Managing the resources to ensure on\-time, on\-budget deliveries meeting quality objectives;
+ Working with the PRT to develop comprehensive design, verification, qualification, and transfer to production strategies;
+ Writing reports, working issues, documenting design history, and presenting results/findings;
+ Anticipating and managing risks, identifying viable alternates and leading the decision\-making process;
+ Employing quality management systems and defect prevention techniques throughout the complete realization process \(e\.g\. design for manufacturing, mistake proofing, etc\);
+ Ability and willingness to work flex\-time and travel on a periodic basis\.


+ You will have a bachelors and masters degree in relevant STEM discipline plus two or more years experience; or bachelor's and doctorate in relevant STEM discipline\.
+ You will have experience managing projects \(developing, managing and reporting on budgets/schedules/risks\)\.
+ You will have a current and active DOE Q\-level security clearance, or equivalent\.


+ Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering\.
+ Experience leading diverse teams on complex projects \(identifying the work that needs to be done, delegating appropriately, and ensuring timely and quality completion\)\.
+ Experience and familiarity with controller systems, including processor architectures, state machine architectures and digital and analog principles\.
+ Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated abilities in effective leadership, negotiation, delegation, and conflict resolution in diverse team environments\.
+ Experience working in or partnering with some of the following: System engineering and integration of complex systems; design, development, realization, production, or surveillance of Nuclear Weapon \(NW\) Weapon Reserve \(WR\) hardware; qualification testing and analysis; hardware assembly and integration\.
+ Experience working with the Kansas City National Security Campus \(KCNSC\) \(Honeywell FM&T\)\.
+ Experience collaborating with customers and managing customer expectations\.
+ Experience identifying and managing risks and resolving issues by conducting trade\-offs to determine the most effective integrated product solution\.
+ Demonstrated ability to balance multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities and to successfully multi\-task and adapt to shifting priorities while meeting deliverable deadlines\.
+ Familiarity with Sandia's Realize Product Procedures \(RPPs\) and the Engineering Release drawing system \(EAs and PRIME\)\.
+ Familiarity with MS Project and/or Primavera and EVM Systems \(EVMS\), preferably on an NW modernization program\.
+ Formal technical project management training\.
+ Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication, including the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, reports, and other documentation\.

Department Description:

The Digital Design & Verification Department is responsible for design, development and support of electronic subsystems that manage the arming and fuzing functions for the nuclear deterrent of this nation\. Personnel within 5351 also play a key role in development, maturation, and deployment of advanced technologies for next\-generation weapon systems\. The department specializes in digital logic design, as well as the integrating software to control and test real\-time embedded systems\. Current work includes realization of five Application\-Specific Integrated Circuits \(ASICs\) that are destined for Navy and Air Force systems\.
