We are seeking an experienced team lead to join the tester development program for the Mobile Guardian Transporter \(MGT\) project\. You will lead the technical design team tasked with development of multiple testers for qualification of MGT modules and systems\. Your role provides the opportunity to play a key role in the development of critical national security assets\.

You will operate in a team environment to lead the hardware and software design teams to develop test software and equipment at the Sandia Albuquerque site\. You will be responsible for ensuring tester designs meet certification standards and execute the implementation of the designs through completion\. Work will include collaborating with multiple teams to obtain requirements, design/integration through field installation\.

Collaborating with other SNL or external organizations will be necessary to develop the system/subsystem requirements, implementation planning, and qualification activities\. As part of the design team, the team lead will facilitate and manage members in design and implementation of hardware and software systems, documentation, and execution of test plans and analysis of test results\. Testing will be performed on a National Instruments \(NI\) platform hosting LabVIEW test software, TestStand, and Common Tester Architecture \(CTA\)\.

On any given day, you may be asked to:

+ Lead a team to design and develop system and subsystem test equipment for the MGT project
+ Work within a multi\-disciplinary team to ensure the development, test and integration of next\-generation Mobile Guardian Transporter \(MGT\) electronics modules
+ Integrate with the various teams for developing tester requirements and performing design qualification activities
+ Work in an exciting and fast\-paced environment where you can make a visible impact on the national security posture of the United States

Occasional travel is necessary\.

Required:

+ You have a bachelor's and advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field plus 2 or more years directly related experience \(or a BS and 6 or more years related experience\)
+ Your background includes experience designing and developing test equipment
+ You possess an active DOE Q\-level or DOD Top Secret security clearance

Desired:

Ideally, your background would also include:

+ Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
+ Experience testing microcontroller/embedded software based systems
+ Experience testing digital, RF, and/or satellite communications systems
+ Experience with LabVIEW software
+ Experience with National Instruments hardware and drivers, including TestStand
+ Experience with Common Tester Architecture \(CTA\)
+ Ability and interest to learn new technologies
+ A standout colleague capable of handling multiple assignments, with strong customer focus and excellent oral and written communication skills

Department Description:

The Communications and Electrical Systems Technology department \(6622\) provides excellence in the design of communication, electronic, and software systems; enhancing the security of weapons systems and special nuclear material during transportation\. The department serves the needs of customers from the NNSA Office of Secure Transportation \(OST\) and Nuclear Stockpile Management\. The department specializes in technical solutions for the Safeguards Transporter \(SGT\) and Mobile Guardian Transporter \(MGT\) projects with a focus on detecting, assessing, and rapidly responding to design basis threats\. A current focus area for the department is the development of systems enabling Integration Surety Architecture \(ISA\) capabilities in the SGT and MGT\. The department's efforts ensure the security of our nation's critical strategic assets during transportation\.
