**Are you passionate about your work and dream of utilizing state-of-the-art facilities to explore solutions? Do you want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues for our nation's security?**

We are seeking an experienced Computer Scientist to join our existing scrum architecture team working on the design, implementation and deployment of satellite ground station software. We are a diverse team engaged in groundbreaking work. You will work on a highly collaborative and agile team to incrementally plan, build and demonstrate working software directly with our mission customers. You will be responsible for managing your commitments, your time and your career growth within the context of a supportive and enabling environment. You will participate in daily scrum meetings where you will report your progress and work to resolve team impediments. As a phenomenal teammate, you are expected to ask for help if you need it and provide help for your fellow teammates when they are stuck. Although there will be ample opportunities to shine as an individual contributor, the team's success will take preeminence over the individual. You will have opportunities to participate in training that will improve your skills and ability to contribute to the project. You may participate in technical investigations or perform tradeoff analysis utilizing either formal methods, prototyping, or industry research to either characterize alternative technologies against a set of architectural drivers, needs and features; or to discover new uses for existing technologies. You may be asked to present your experiences and research to your team, to your project or to your organization.

On any given day, you could be called on to:

+ Define and communicate the architecture of the Tumbo/Micro components in OPGA, a large-scale data driven decision support ground system
+ Work both as a team member and individually to translate customer and user needs into custom software solutions that are peer reviewed, tested, verified, and integrated and ultimately deployed into operations
+ Participate in scrum planning meetings, daily stand-ups, sprint and iteration demos and retrospectives
+ Identify and implement solutions to software problems with our currently fielded systems

Required:

+ You have an undergraduate and graduate (Masters or PhD) degree in a discipline related to computer science plus two years related experience; OR Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related discipline) plus six years relevant experience
+ You possess experience with object-oriented software development and modern programming languages (Java, C++ and/or Python)
+ Your background includes experience with Linux-based software development
+ You can obtain a DOE and SCI clearance and may eventually need to pass a counterintelligence polygraph

Desired:

We would like for you to also possess the following:

+ Proven experience collaborating as a member of team with effective interpersonal and communication skills
+ Experience implementing and adopting the use of Agile techniques for software development (SAFe and Scrum)
+ Experience working on large-scale software development projects and/or prior experience with satellite and remote sensing systems
+ Experience with several of the following: Storyboards, Use Cases, Architectural diagrams, Magic Draw, partner reviews
+ Active DOE-granted Q security clearance
