We are seeking innovative Computer Scientists and Software Engineers to develop and deploy next generation capabilities for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC). You will be supporting classified programs of critical importance to the U.S. National Defense Strategy.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop simulations and flight software for system concepts and operational pathfinders.
+ Develop physics-based models of sensor modalities and target-signature phenomenologies.
+ Develop physics-based models of advanced electronic warfare (EW) and cyber warfare concepts.
+ Develop behavioral models to represent dynamic and resilient battle management command and control (BMC2) systems within Joint Force structures.
+ Represent Sandia excellence by presenting technical results to program integrated project teams (IPTs) and other stakeholders throughout the national security community.


+ Bachelors degree in Physics or an Engineering Discipline relevant to the development of flight software, system models or simulation and analysis tools
+ Experience programming in C, C++, and/or Python


+ Masters degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Software Engineering
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment
+ Experience with low-latency and/or high-throughput communications middleware
+ Experience with HPC architectures and optimization
+ Experience with machine learning, Neural Networks or Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)
+ Experience developing physics-based models for sensing or communications
+ Experience developing physics or behavioral models for EW or cyber warfare
+ Experience with DoD / IC modeling tools; e.g., AFSIM, ITASE or NGTS.
+ Experience with DoD open systems architectures; e.g., UCI, OMS, SOSA and WOSA
+ Experience / familiarization with complex adaptive systems

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
