Polytechnique, in the context of the new NSERC-CRIAQ-Bombardier Industrial Research Chair on Interdisciplinary Aerothermodynamic Analysis and Design Methods for Transport Aircraft, is seeking to increase the critical mass of its aerospace engineering activities and to hire a professor in mechanical engineering, specializing in turbulence simulations. The professor will participate in the activities of this chair and will have to develop an autonomous research program in this field of expertise.
The professor has excellent knowledge in the field of fluid dynamics, aerothermodynamics, in particular the modeling and simulation of turbulence applied for example to aircraft, turbomachinery, wind turbines, etc.

This faculty position is a tenure-track. Salary and benefits will be set in accordance with the collective agreement in effect (www.polymtl.ca/srh/relations-de-travail). The successful candidate must have a PhD in mechanical engineering or a related field. A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. He or she must be registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as an engineer or will take the necessary steps to register prior to applying for tenure. Candidates must demonstrate excellent research and teaching skills. Fluency in French is not a requirement for employment. Since the language of teaching is French, the successful candidate must have an adequate command of the spoken and written French language before applying for tenure. Polytechnique Montréal will provide the necessary assistance and support to become a registered member of the OIQ as well as for learning French.
