Widener University School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the mechanical engineering department with expertise in mechatronics, electromechanical systems, robotics or controls. The School of Engineering consists of six departments in biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical and robotics engineering. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package along with a professional environment designed to enhance career development. The successful candidate is expected to publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed technical journals, and develop and sustain an externally funded research program. The position will remain open until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely-related field; Candidates should be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as mechatronics, mechanics of robotic systems, control systems, advanced manufacturing, and autonomous systems; Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong commitment to excellence in engineering education.

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant research and/or industrial experience.
