This management opening is an opportunity to lead a vital part of Sandias microelectronics packaging operations with responsibility for electrical testing, burn-in, package life testing and related qualification, validation and acceptance testing for ND products. The 5231 manager directs a team of engineers and technologists to deliver Mark Quality products to ND customers and provide scientific, engineering and production support to a range of projects within MESA.

Key responsibilities of the successful candidate include:

+ Being responsible for 5231 organization in delivering with excellence and energizing the team to accomplish this objective
+ Ensuring that the team is robust, agile, and well-suited for all the department's technical challenges
+ Coordinating across the center to ensure timely, on-budget deliveries meet quality requirements
+ Building effective partnerships across Sandia, with sponsors (internal and external), and industry partners
+ Developing and implementing manufacturing process controls and driving continuous improvement in ND production outcomes
+ Crafting, tracking and reporting on the budgets, schedules, risks and variances of the production programs to both internal and external customers.
+ Supporting 5200 Center level pivotal initiatives such as heterogeneous integration and future CMOS technology
+ Ensuring positive relationships with Sandia Production, with Sandias ND customer community and with other partner organizations

+ College degree (B.S or Masters) in a STEM field plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
+ A minimum of two years of proven leadership experience as a PRT lead, as a department manager or in a related role.
+ Current Unites States Department of Energy Q clearance or DOD equivalent.
+ Knowledge of ND products and programs, including proven experience working in a product delivery or related production environment and familiarity with Realize Product Procedures (RPPs), NW Quality standards, and/or delivery of Mark Quality products.


+ Proven interpersonal skills in developing trust-based relationships among peers, staff, management, and customers.
+ Experience in Nuclear Weapon Systems, Major Component and/or Sandia Production (SP) projects.
+ Demonstrated track record of leading and/or participating in continuous improvement efforts.
+ Basic understanding of microelectronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and/or microsystems packaging, testing and reliability issues.
+ Basic understanding of semiconductor product test methods and associated statistical analyses.
+ Knowledge of the capabilities of SNLs constituent organizations and a professional network at SNL that allows rapid engagement

Department Description:

The Post-Fab Technologies organization is responsible for microelectronic packaging design, development, engineering and production activities with applications spanning microelectronics, MEMS, photonic systems, and RFICs. The Post-Fab Technologies Group is part of Sandias Microsystems Engineering, Science, and Applications Center (MESA). The Product Engineering department (5231) provides product development, pre-production, and production expertise/oversight for the testing, qualification, and delivery of high reliability packaged semiconductor products.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
