**Are you passionate about facilities?** We are seeking a Facilities & Custodial Services Manager to join our team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Ensure custodial services are provided using established Operating System 1 (OS1) cleaning and facilities processes.
+ Resolve craft personnel issues per the labor agreement.
+ Be accountable for all department Environment, Safety & Health (ES&H) and Security activities.
+ Provide process design/implementation, compliance, and improvement; coordinate with Assurance staff and the Process Coordinators to evaluate and improve performance.
+ Mentor, empower, and encourage your team members and provide the vital tools for effective business management.
+ Evaluate Team Supervisors and provide direction, support and opportunities for growth.
+ Support staff training and professional development while also supervising and measuring performance and implement corrective actions.


+ Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline plus eight (8) or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.


+ Leadership experience in custodial services and/or union environment to supervise and manage members of the organization, including hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization.
+ Familiarity with government legislation, U.S. Department of Energy contract compliance, and Sandia National Laboratories' policies or procedures to ensure compliance.
+ Conflict resolution and customer service experience with resolving issues to promote customer satisfaction.
+ Responds to grievances per Sandia's policy and the provisions of the Management and Operating Contract.
+ Collaborate with other members of the facilities management team to provide integrated, coordinated services to customers.
+ Experience supervising employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more trades, including electrical, plumbing, structural, air-conditioning, heating, painting, gardening, heavy equipment operation, or general maintenance.
+ Project Management experience related to heavy floor care, emergency situations, and walk-through with customers and building managers. As well as legacy issues and equipment failures.
+ Writes outage memos and procedures and runs scheduled or unscheduled electrical or mechanical utility outage procedures.

Department Description:

Sandia's Custodial Services Department is a full-service, in-house custodial department. We service approximately 3.5 million square feet of office, lobby, laboratory, break room, classroom, and conference room space and assists with the collection of recycling products, including aluminum, plastic, cardboard, and mixed paper products to include the composting pilot program. We have been utilizing the Operating System 1 (OS1) cleaning process since 1999 for daily cleaning, which adds value to employee health and lab appearance. This process emphasizes health first and appearance second. Custodial work is separated into four specialtiesrestroom specialist, vacuum specialist, utility specialist, and light-duty specialist. All Sandia custodians are certified in each of these specialties. Our team also maintains a Heavy Floor Care Team which is responsible for the annual stripping and refinishing of flooring, as well as shampooing of all carpets.

Security Clearance:
