The Radar Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group is seeking motivated students having an interest and/or background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and algorithm development to participate in an internship experience that will incorporate a range of activities, dependent on the background and experience of the candidate, that may include:

+ Participation as part of a team to conceive, develop, design and deliver algorithms utilizing software development tools such as MATLAB, C++, Python, etc., that support imaging radar, radio-frequency (RF) communications, EW/ECM, geolocation, and other missions
+ Support research staff in the development of novel RF and electronic devices
+ Experimental testing of RF and electronic systems and/or system characterization activities using advanced electronic/RF/microwave test instrumentation
+ Analysis and documentation of results in reports or papers


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position.

Additional Requirements:

+ Undergraduate-level coursework in electrical engineering with relevant courses in science, math, and signal processing, including laboratory experimental skills
+ Experience with programming languages (C/C++, Java, Fortran, Python, etc.)
+ Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, teaming environment
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills
+ Ability to obtain a DOE L clearance


+ Experience with simulation software such as MATLAB, Mathcad, etc
+ Experience with basic communications systems, electronic measurement techniques, and data collection systems
+ Experience with design, fabrication, and testing of microelectronic circuits, printed circuit boards, RF electronics, etc
+ Experience with instrumentation software such as LabVIEW

Radar ISR delivers pathfinder radar imaging and exploitation systems for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications. These high impact technology programs support the development of next generation Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems with highly integrated, miniaturized and fully mission-capable radar technologies for National Security, Non-Proliferation and Nuclear Deterrence mission needs.

Security Clearance:
