We are seeking an Intern Summer - R&D Grad.

The Radar Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group is seeking motivated students having an interest and/or background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and algorithm development to participate in an internship experience that will incorporate a range of activities, dependent on the background and experience of the candidate, that may include:

+ Participation in the development and testing of next-generation Sandia imaging radar sensors and data exploitation advances that may include modalities such as agile waveforms, polarimetry, target tracking, multi-static data processing and exploitation, radar-enabled precision guidance, etc
+ Participation in a team to conceive, develop, design and deliver algorithms utilizing software development tools such as MATLAB, C++, Python, etc., that support imaging radar, radio-frequency (RF) communications, EW/ECM, geolocation, and other missions
+ Experimental testing of RF and electronic systems and/or system characterization activities using advanced electronic/RF/microwave test instrumentation
+ Analysis and documentation of results in reports or papers


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Earned bachelor's degree
+ Currently attending and enrolled full time (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your graduate program, please apply to an undergraduate intern position.

Additional Requirements:

+ Senior-level or graduate coursework in electrical engineering with an emphasis in radar system modeling/signal processing/advanced communication waveforms/etc.
+ Experience with MATLAB, as well as other programming languages (C/C++, C#, Java, Fortran, Python, VB script, Julia, etc.)
+ Familiarity with the use of electronic/RF/microwave test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
+ Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, teaming environment
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills
+ Ability to obtain a DOE L clearance


+ Experience in radar system development and/or radar hardware architectures
+ Experience with basic communications systems, electronic measurement techniques, and data collection systems
+ Experience with design, fabrication, and testing of microelectronic circuits, printed circuit boards, RF electronics, etc.
+ Experience with instrumentation software such as LabVIEW

Radar ISR delivers pathfinder radar imaging and exploitation systems for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications.
