We are seeking a motivated Information Enterprise Systems Technologist to join our Classified Virtual Desktop Engineering team. The mission for the team is to design, develop and support Sandias Classified Virtual Desktop service. We manage the performance, user experience, reliability and security to enable classified desktop computing. We maintain desktop images and VMWare systems in an Enterprise level IT environment. As the successful candidate, you will join a team of high performing IT professionals committed to this objective.

The selected candidate, as part of the VDI team, can expect to perform a diverse set of technical tasks such as:

+ Handle the Tier 3-4 support of Horizon components and upgrades.
+ Tier 3-4 support for end-user experience issues.
+ Engineer/test the patches/upgrades of the Horizon components.
+ Client OS image versioning and patching.
+ Virtualize applications for the environment.
+ Liaison between VDI team and customers.

Required:

+ Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.

Desired:

+ Bachelors degree in Information System Technologies or related IT field.
+ 3 years or more experience in:

- Troubleshooting and supporting Windows desktops and servers at an Enterprise level.
- Virtual desktop technologies including VMWare.
- Application support and virtualization.
- Experience with classified support.
- Experience and understanding of a computer architecture and network management, (DNS, AD, etc.).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Experience partnering with other IT organizations in support of Enterprise-Wide Solutions (as exemplified via Reference).
- Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service (as exemplified via Reference).

Department Description:

Department 10766 is responsible for the strategic road map, and the maintenance and operations of Sandias two main classified networks, the SCN and the SPN. The primary role of the role is programmatic in nature and relies on our partners across the laboratory to execute the work that is necessary to keep these two networks operational at a highly available level and to provide service on these networks that is of the highest quality. The 3CSI program, and SPN operations are programs that are synonymous with department 10766. In addition, 10766 is responsible for the delivery of the classified desktop to the laboratory via a VDI solution, delivery of mobility engineering services to the laboratory, and delivery of Mac engineering services to the laboratory.

Security Clearance:
