Job Summary:
The New Product Producibility Industrialization Manager works in conjunction with the Power Control Business (PCB) and Motion Control Business (MTC) and is responsible for leading all new product industrialization activities from conceptual design to production release to ensure that designs are as producible as possible.  This includes the leadership of global industrialization engineering team members that support these businesses as well as collaboration across Operations and Engineering Services functions to ensure a smooth product release into manufacturing.
The Industrialization Manager will report to the Director of New Product Producibility Engineering.
Principal Duties:

  • Manage global Industrialization team members and provide cost effective manufacturing processes for new product introductions into Rockwell Automation manufacturing facilities.
  • Support and drive key success measures for product industrialization including cost estimating/optimization, prototype and pilot activities and operations readiness.
  • Engage Design Engineering early in the product development process and coordinate design for manufacturability/assembly (DFA/DFM) to ensure that the product as producible as possible when released to the manufacturing facilities.
  • Engage the Business Unit, Design Engineering, Operations and other Engineering Services functions to ensure the effective and on-time launch into Manufacturing within budget with the highest levels of product quality.
  • Drive standardization on industrialization standard documentations (Process flow charts, DFA/DFM, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFEMA) activities, and work instructions.
  • Implement department goals, priorities, operating methods and procedures.
  • Prioritize projects associated with shared resources.
  • Communicate formally and informally with outside departments concerning department status and project requirements.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for direct reports and provide input to the appraisals of other department members working in teams.
  • Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and train and motivate team members in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of managerial experience
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading new product development resources supporting multiple businesses and development teams.
  • Experience in product line design and implementation, manufacturing process design, documented work instruction creation, fixture design and error proofing techniques (poka-yoke).
  • Experience with risk mitigation tools for design and manufacturing (DFMEA and PFMEA).
  • Experienced in product cost estimation and optimization and establishing bills of materials and routings.
  • Demonstrated experience in business process improvement activities, including lean/six sigma tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated successes in new product development, design for manufacturability/assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Master of Science in Engineering Management or Masters of Business Administration
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Proficient in SAP idea-to-offer applications.
