This is for a technician with demonstrated skills and experience in HVAC to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on traditional facilities plant equipment\. Interested in an individual with strong customer service skills, strong work ethic, and self\- determination\.

Major responsibilities include planning and performing maintenance and / or repair on HVAC systems \(i\.e\., multiple zone air handling systems\), DX packages, split systems, exhaust systems, cooling towers, hydronic systems, and reciprocating and centrifugal chillers ranging in size from 1 to 500 tons\)\. Test and balance air systems\. Align and balance rotating equipment\. Install, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical facilities equipment\. Knowledge of control systems including pneumatic, electric, and electronic microprocessor\-based\. Familiarity with Direct Digital Control Systems and industrial hot water low pressure boilers, air compressors, pneumatic controls, electrical wiring, controls, and piping\.

Respond as required to service calls on above mentioned equipment\. Maintain and process work control documentation and inform management of recommended repairs and systems improvements\. Ability to troubleshoot systems is critical\.

Required:

+ Two\-year technical degree or completion of a California State recognized trade school or equivalent \(high school diploma plus three or more years of directly related industrial/commercial experience\)
+ Working knowledge of the Common Operating Environment MS Windows software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ This position requires a valid driver's license\. \(You will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license when offered employment\)
+ Selected applicants will be required to take a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations\.

Desired:

+ Knowledge of the management of all refrigerants per EPA regulations, Refrigerant Compliance Management \(RCM\) tracking software, and Siemens Apogee Automation software
+ Universal Refrigerant EPA certification 40CFR part 82 subpart F
+ Read and understand blueprint installation and fabrication drawings
+ Effective skills in record\-keeping, time management, and organization
+ Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Department Description:

The Maintenance Team is responsible for performing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance at the CA site\. This includes maintenance of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure as well as grounds / landscaping and custodial services\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
