You could be thehighly motivated individual to be part of our diverse team. You will perform a variety of structure, system, and component (SSC) level maintenance and troubleshooting duties within the electronic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and laboratory areas. You will have the ability to construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems and will work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Assist in the development, execution, and close out of engineering document (EGSAs) and facility work packages (FWP).
+ Operate motorized lifting, rigging, hoist, and jack equipment to support project and operations needs.
+ Operate machine shop equipment such as CNC mill, lathe, drill press, jigs/ fixtures to fabricate one-of-a-kind prototypes and production piece-parts.
+ Perform calibration and alignment checks on mechanical and electrical system.
+ Analyze data and recommend modifications to facility system(s) and/or components to meet desired SSC specifications.
+ May perform duties in radiation environments or involving radiation-producing equipment.

Required:

+ High school diploma or equivalent, plus three or more years of directly related experience
+ Experience with electrical and mechanical design, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance
+ Experience using hand, power, and diagnostic tools
+ Experience operating various machine shop and fabrication equipment
+ Ability to obtain and maintain and DOE Q Security Clearance

Desired:

+ Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, layouts, and other related specifications
+ Great collaboration and coordination skills in communicating work impacts to TA-V system operations, engineering, and management stakeholders (as required)
+ Ability to conceptualize and communicate design elements of electrical and mechanical design to engineering and technical peers
+ Ability to conceptualize appropriate or novel diagnostics required to obtain data and knowledge of the system
+ Experience in collecting and compiling data from various equipment sources and synergizing that information into meaningful data for various engineering programs
+ Experience working in radiological/nuclear facilities
+ Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks, Pro E)
+ Experience working with pressurized systems

Department Description:

This department provides the operational management of the Auxiliary Hot Cell Facility (AHCF), and the Gamma Irradiation Facility (GIF), and the Low Dose Rate Irradiation Facility (LDRIF) in TA-III. The GIF and the LDRIF are used to provide experiment support to a wide variety of experimenters within and external to the Laboratories. The AHCF is the key Category 3 nuclear facility for repackaging and disposition of waste and materials that require the rigor in operations of a nuclear facility, as well as the safety provided by the shielding and containment. Another important aspect of this department is the implementation of the Integrated Work Management and Maintenance Management programs for all operations, maintenance, and processes for Organization 01380.

Security Clearance:
