We are seeking a General Technologist (R&D) to assist in uploading, managing and tracking nuclear weapons documents in the configuration management tools PDMLink and PRIME. These tools have gained wide use across Sandia National Laboratories as the preferred configuration management applications for nuclear weapon projects for the duration of the lifecycle.

The position, based upon skills and desire, will include duties such as: uploading documents, managing documents, auditing the database(s), creating custom reports, and providing guidance and training on the database(s). Training and mentoring will be available. You will work closely with nuclear weapons R&D staff on a frequent basis.


+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Experience with common office software, such as Microsoft Office
+ Active Q or Top Secret clearance


+ Knowledge of the Nuclear Weapons complex and product realization process
+ Knowledge of Configuration Management processes and terminology
+ Ability to work independently under general direction
+ Proven teaming skills, including the ability work effectively with other organizations, science and engineering technical management and staff, project sponsors, stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
+ Experience working with the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, or Department of Defense
+ Experience working with PDMLink or PRIME
+ Experience working with classified information and on classified networks
+ General knowledge of systems engineering terminology and processes as well as project management processes and terminology
+ Certification(s) through the Institute for Process Excellence

Department Description:

The W80-4 Project Management team is responsible for providing support to the W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP) for the PDMLink and PRIME Configuration Management databases. The role is an integral member of the system team and works closely with the system engineers, information managers, and the rest of the programmatic team.

The NW Programs are responsible for assuring the safety, reliability and security of U.S. nuclear weapons, enabling the defense of our nation through our nuclear strategic deterrent. The Nuclear Weapons Programs three principal thrusts are: (1) overseeing the enduring nuclear weapons stockpile; (2) innovative analyses and evolution of warhead systems, subsystems, and components; their production and deployment; along with the development of supporting technologies; (3) and the safe, effective, and environmentally responsible dismantlement and disposal of weapons retired from the stockpile.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
