We are seeking a General Technologist (R&D) to assist in uploading, managing and tracking nuclear weapons documents in the configuration management tools PDMLink and PRIME. These tools have gained wide use across Sandia National Laboratories as the preferred configuration management applications for nuclear weapon projects for the duration of the lifecycle.

On any given day, you might be called on to:

+ Support operations and corresponding computer applications to meet Configuration Management (CM) and change control project objectives, engineering data collection and documentation deliverables
+ Support operations and corresponding computer applications to meet requirements and verification objectives, engineering data collection and documentation deliverables.


+ Associates degree in Configuration Management, Quality Management, Information Systems or Management, Design Engineering, or equivalent; or a different Associates degree with a minimum of 6 years experience in an aforementioned field
+ Experience working with engineering teams to meet project deliverables in any of these areas: configuration management, change control, and/or requirements tools and/or documentation.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance


+ Working knowledge of PDMLink and/or other equivalent configuration management tools and processes
+ Working knowledge of standard business applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Adobe, Sharepoint)
+ Working knowledge of the product and/or software development lifecycle (e.g. Systems Engineering V, Product Lifecycle Management, etc.)
+ Experience working on engineering development program of 100 MOWs or better with broad documentation objectives (e.g. 10,000 100,000 of records).
+ CMII, ISO, PMBOK, or INCOSE certifications
+ Desire to learn new skills as required and develop expertise in areas that may be unfamiliar.
+ Self-motivated, positive individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment .
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work well in multi-disciplinary team environment.
+ Strong interpersonal and teaming skills as well as strong organizational and planning skills.
+ Active DOE L or DoD S clearance with the ability to get a DOE Q

Department Description:

The W80-4 Project Management team is responsible for providing support to the W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP) for the PDMLink and PRIME Configuration Management databases. The role is an integral member of the system team and works closely with the system engineers, information managers, and the rest of the programmatic team.

The NW Programs are responsible for assuring the safety, reliability and security of U.S. nuclear weapons, enabling the defense of our nation through our nuclear strategic deterrent. The Nuclear Weapons Programs three principal thrusts are: overseeing the enduring nuclear weapons stockpile; innovative analyses and evolution of warhead systems, subsystems, and components; their production and deployment; along with the development of supporting technologies; and the safe, effective, and environmentally responsible dismantlement and disposal of weapons retired from the stockpile.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
