Are you passionate about serving our nation and wanting to make a positive impact? We are seeking a R&D S&E, Electrical Engineer to perform Fighter/Bomber testing\. You will join a team of dynamic experts and get up close and personal with premier war\-fighting aircraft\! You will perform invasive testing inside bomb bays, on weapons pylons, under aircraft even with engines running at times, with your safety as our \#1 priority\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Work on F\-15, F\-16 and NATO fighter aircraft, the B\-2 bomber, the new B\-21 bomber, the B\-52 bomber and more\!
+ Lead electrical compatibility testing through all phases\.
+ Have an immediate impact on our nations war\-fighting capability\.
+ Act as a key spokesperson and advisor to Department of Defense and Department of Energy decision makers\.

This position requires some travel\.


+ Bachelors and advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in a STEM discipline; or bachelors degree in a STEM discipline plus four years of relevant engineering experience\.
+ Two years of experience in an engineering role\.
+ Education or experience with digital design\.
+ Education or experience with data analysis\.
+ Education or experience with digital/analog data acquisition\.


+ Experience leading engineering or technical projects\.
+ Weapons program experience at SNL or other DOD organizations\.
+ Design experience with either MicroProcessors, FPGAs, or ASICs\.
+ Software programming experience\.
+ Experience with MILSTD1553 digital interface\.
+ Experience leading or participating in Flight Test activities\.
+ Communication skills including technical writing and presentations to large multiagency audiences\.
+ Program management experience\.
+ Active US DOE Q security clearance or DOD equivalent\.

Department Description:

The Aircraft Compatibility organizations role is critical to maintaining the viability, technical confidence and operational readiness of the US nuclear weapons stockpile\. Our team establishes and maintains compatibility of nuclear weapons with their delivery platforms, enabling weapon reliability calculations\. This team works with military engineering and operational organizations, aircraft contractors, and Sandias weapon systems departments in the design and certification of the aircraft/weapon interface\. Members oversee the laboratory and flight testing of their assigned weapon systems to include evaluating data, investigating anomalies and reporting results\. Personnel use a variety of engineering tools that represent electrical and functional characteristics of a war reserve weapon\. The project is a continuing process of certification and recertification of aircraft nuclear weapon system compatibility\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
