We are seeking a Tactical Planner to perform work on Electrical Systems at the Sandia National Laboratories New Mexico site.

On any given day, in support of your specific discipline, you be called on to:

+ Scope detailed electrical projects.
+ Trouble shoot electrical systems, including the use of Dranetz to determine power quality and for power diagnostics.
+ Coordinate power outages.
+ Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
+ Under the direction of an engineer, develop designs for maintenance and minor construction activities.
+ Perform electrical design reviews.

Required:

+ Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical Engineering related field plus five (5) years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma plus thirteen (13) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
+ Demonstrated experience working in a Facilities organization and/or Engineering firm, construction industry, or inspection with electrical design experience.

Desired:

+ Demonstrated experience with:

- Design under the direction of an experienced engineer.
- Coordination of power outages.
- Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance plan.
+ Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills necessary to identify and resolve electrical risk issues with the mission in mind and assist in making recommendations to system/operations engineers and management.
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and the ability to obtain a PE license.
+ Experience with the following:

- Current electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Scoping detailed electrical projects.
- Trouble shooting electrical systems, including the use of Dranetz to determine power quality and for power diagnostics.
- Arc Flash Hazard calculations and software, short circuit and load flow calculations.
- Computerized facilities management systems such as Maximo, Tririga, or other similar software platforms.
- Facilities management and maintenance organization.
- NNSA, DOE or other federal government requirements.
+ Knowledge of high voltage.
+ Working knowledge and understanding in Facilities engineering, design and construction as well as industry standard methodologies.
+ Proven ability to initiate effective internal customer relationships.
+ Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion as well as effectively prioritize and execute multiple high rigor tasks in a high-pressure environment.
+ Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

The Facilities Area-FAM 4 Department 4824 is responsible for facilities in TA-II, TA-IV, TTR and KTF. Our mission is to maintain the buildings and associated systems fit for mission use, as well as to facilitate modifications in support of future mission work. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
