We are seeking an Environmental Technical Professional to join our team. You will implement and administer the Environmental Monitoring Program to maintain compliance with wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater regulations. You may also support one or more of the following environmental programs: air quality compliance, environmental remediation, hazardous and radiological waste management, pollution prevention and waste minimization, ecology, and environmental compliance reporting. You will team with researchers, operations staff, and management to achieve program efficiency and success while meeting regulatory requirements.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop and implement environmental procedures.
+ Review and analyze regulations, processes, operations, and activities to ensure compliance with new or revised environmental regulations.
+ Prepare and submit a variety of regulatory permits, reports, and submissions to local, state, and federal environmental regulators.
+ Manage the primary interface with regulators for audits, permitting, notices of violation, corrective action planning, and root cause analyses.
+ Lead and direct the daily work of technologists, consultants, and contractors supporting environmental programs.
+ Participate on the site spill response team.
+ Direct and perform field activities to include sampling, analyses, and equipment maintenance.
+ Manage and analyze environmental data.


+ Requires bachelors degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two or more years of experience and applied technical knowledge in wastewater and/or storm water environmental compliance.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.
+ Experience in data management and analyses.


+ Professional certification as a Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner in California.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain professional certifications commensurate with responsibilities and assignments.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Demonstrated technical writing skills.
+ Ability to use personal protective equipment, including a respirator.

Department Description:

The SNL/California Environmental Management Department is responsible for the implementation of all environmental programs and activities at the Livermore site in support of research and development in combustion, bio-defense, energy and nuclear security disciplines. The department implements five Environmental programs (Air Quality, Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Planning, Waste Management and Pollution Prevention).

Security Clearance:
