We are seeking a Electronics Technologist an Electrical Test Technologist to coordinate and execute development and qualification testing activities\. The activities will focus primarily on AFA integration and acceptance testing\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support the efforts into test planning, set up and documentation functional AFA testing and maturation of the Mk21 AFA development tester\. The execution of this integration and testing will require coordination of support equipment, facility logistics, experiment set up and test execution\.
+ Support flight test unit development and integration of the AFA into flight test assemblies\.
+ Support the definition and execution of mission assurance activities for flight and qualification hardware is an important expectation\.

Modest travel is required to support integration and qualification testing activities\.


+ Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree\.
+ Experience in development or testing of electro\-mechanical assemblies at subsystem or component level


+ Demonstrated capability in team and interpersonal interactions
+ Previous experience Nuclear Weapon System or Component Development
+ Experience in mechanical assembly and testing of electro\-mechanical subsystems
+ Familiarity with automated tester hardware and software tools such as ITA hardware and LabVIEW\-based tester activities
+ Experience with SNL processes in system qualification, design definition processes and configuration control

Department Description:

The Common/Adaptable Fuzing Department \(2341\) has responsibility in the application of Fuze capability in Air Force ICBM Weapon Systems\. Fuze technologies share strong synergy with W88 Alt and W78 LEP modernization programs\. Department 2341 has technical development and design maturation responsibilities for the Mk21 Arming and Fuzing Assembly \(AFA\)\. These technologies enable radar and sensor based Nuclear Weapon \(NW\) fuzing applications\. These NW development programs are all engaged in robust development cycles which will progress through active flight test programs and production cycles over the next 5 years\. The Mk21 Fuze program is in Phase 3, full scale engineering development, and has strong funding support from SNL and the USAF for the near and long term\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
