Do you want to be part of an exciting, dynamic, and highly technical team of experts? We are seeking passionate and highly motivated Electromechanical Technologist to join the Air Delivered Weapon Systems Tester Development Department (2256) and the Ballistic Missile Tester Development Department (2255). We design, fabricate, qualify, and deploy complex system level testers, which support the Stockpile Surveillance Program. You will work with a team that is vital to the surety of the nations nuclear weapon stockpile.

_Candidates applying on this job may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories_

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Conduct research of technologies to inform engineers
+ Conduct technical tradeoff analyses to inform requirements and technical decisions.
+ Perform assembly of test systems or testing operations in the labs.
+ Participate\contribute on a high performing team in the development of conceptual test systems
+ Collaborate with design engineers, systems engineers, and other domain authorities in performance and design of the system.
+ Perform stockpile evaluation tests while learning about the United States Nuclear Security Enterprise, nuclear weapon design and function, and the role of Sandia National Laboratories in the Nations Nuclear Deterrent.

Be an integral part of the team that designs, delivers, and qualify complex and exciting testers in the nuclear weapon complex.

Required:

+ Associates degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or electromechanical technology or 4 years relevant experience

Desired:

+ Proven working knowledge of mechanical and electrical technologies.
+ Experience in the design, development, fabrication, and qualification of complex testers and test systems.
+ Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proven ability to team across disciplines.
+ Active DOE Q-Level security clearance.

Department Description:

Our teams support the Stockpile Surveillance Program mission through design and development of new test systems used in the evaluation of new material and stockpiled weapons. These test system designs meet requirements formally developed and documented by program System Evaluation Engineers. Test results from this test equipment provide data to support independent assessment of the surety, safety, reliability, and quality attributes of nuclear weapons and their subsystems and components.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
