We are seeking an Electronics Engineer with circuit design and RF experience to join our close-knit team to develop electronics and embedded hardware solutions to challenging national security problems.

On any given day, your specific responsibilities will include:

+ Board-level circuit designs (analog, digital, and/or RF), analysis, bench level and environmental testing, debugging, and system integration
+ Digital and analog hardware design, including printed circuit board design, embedded software development, and FPGA application development
+ Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mechanical engineers, material scientists, RF engineers and technicians to accomplish design goals
+ Being self-motivated, creative, and willing to learn and grow technically
+ Ability to guide a group of hardworking technicians in the execution of multifaceted hardware work

Required:

+ Masters degree in EE/CE or relevant field plus 3 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's in relevant field plus 7 years of relevant experience
+ Your experience includes developing board-level electronic and/or RF circuit designs
+ Experience crafting very low power embedded systems
+ Mixed signal digital and analog hardware design including schematic capture and layout of printed wiring assemblies
+ You possess proficiency with standard electronic/RF lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, multi-meters, and logic analyzers
+ Active DOE Q-level Security Clearance and ability to acquire and maintain and SCI-level security clearance, which may require a polygraph.

Desired:

+ Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Electrical Engineering
+ Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with internal organizations and external production facilities and suppliers.
+ Experience with software and modeling tools such as: Python, C/C++, C#, VHDL, LabVIEW, Mentor Graphics, OrCAD, Altium, and MATLAB/Simulink
+ Experience with vulnerability assessments and reverse engineering
+ Ability to work effectively on both small and large development teams
+ Dedication to developing yourself and your skill set
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
+ Active SCI clearance, which includes random polygraph examinations

The Applied Technologies Department (5965) performs work on advanced technology projects in the Proliferation Assessments Center. Technical functions represented in the department include electrical engineering, mathematics, system modeling, computer engineering, materials science, and physics.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
