Wentworth was founded in 1904 and offers career-focused education through its 19 bachelor's degree programs as well as 7 master's degrees. Wentworth’s mission of empowering students through experiential learning is fostered and enhanced by their $115M endowment. The campus is located in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. It consists primarily of 15 buildings for administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, laboratories, library, and athletic facilities. Wentworth collaborates closely with the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, MCHPS University, Simmons University, and Emmanuel College. through the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, and shares many facilities and activities with these institutions.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The search advisory committee invites inquiries, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The College of Engineering and Computer Science combines inspired classroom learning, extensive hands-on projects, and paid cooperative work experiences that prepare graduates for career success. Its innovative curriculum spans 6 departments housing 11 undergraduate programs in biological engineering, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer networking, computer science, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, engineering, and mechanical engineering. All eligible undergraduate programs are ABET accredited and all other programs will be seeking accreditation. This is a time of transformation and opportunity at Wentworth as it welcomes its fifth president in the institution's nearly 115 year history. Home to a number of Wentworth's signature programs, Engineering and Computer Science strives to prepare its graduates for productive and challenging careers in private practice, industry, government, and the non-profit sector. With two existing master’s degree programs, the College of Engineering and Computer Science is also in the initial phases of a potential expansion of its graduate degrees. Its programs provide a solid foundation for life-long professional development.
