Company Overview

Calling the adventurers ready to join a company that's pushing the limits of nanotechnology to keep the digital revolution rolling. At KLA-Tencor, we're making technology advancements that are bigger—and tinier—than the world has ever seen.

Who are we?  We research, develop, and manufacture the world's most advanced inspection and measurement equipment for the semiconductor and nanoelectronics industries. We enable the digital age by pushing the boundaries of technology, creating tools capable of finding defects smaller than a wavelength of visible light. We create smarter processes so that technology leaders can manufacture high-performance chips—the kind in that phone in your pocket, the tablet on your desk and nearly every electronic device you own—faster and better. We're passionate about creating solutions that drive progress and help people do what wouldn't be possible without us.  The future is calling. Will you answer?

Business Unit

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and integrate a PRI (Power, Reset, Interlock) system to allow multiple, independently controlled subsystems to communicate and act as a single system. The subsystems may have PLCs from various suppliers or use an industrial PC for control. The subsystems must act together, both for machine control and safety interlocks/power control. Design may require using existing systems in ways they were not originally meant to operate, but overall system must still meet SEMI requirements.

The person should have expertise in mechanical automation systems, safety systems, LabVIEW, interlock hardware, and semiconductor equipment standards. Although listed as a Mechanical Engineering position, a qualified applicant could also come from a software or electrical engineering background. There is a critical need to add a subject matter expert with this missing expertise to the 8xx team.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

MS degree with over 10 years of experience in design/development of control systems using PLCs and/or industrial PCs, more than 5 years of experience with low-volume, high complexity systems. Experience with semiconductor equipment, and in particular,,safety interlock systems, is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree plus 8 years, OR
  • Master's degree plus 5 years relevant experience and accomplishments.
