**Are you passionate about facilities management?** Would you like to join a dynamic team responsible for providing engineer and design activities for Sandia infrastructures? If so, you could be one of the dedicated Construction Manager we are seeking to join our team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Provide construction management services and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and under budget.
+ Ensure compliance with Sandia Corporation, Facilities Management and Operations Center, and environment, safety, and health requirements to safely and effectively develop and deliver completed construction projects.
+ Lead construction of customer funded and capital investment program projects.
+ Provide accurate coordination with the construction management support and inspection service contractors to effectively schedule and manage all construction work.
+ Develop a coordinated construction contractor schedule to handle all work as a program aligned to an assigned geographic area or team.
+ Create and build a Construction Manager workload leveling tool to assign projects to Construction Managers.
+ Provide guidance and leadership to Construction Manager’s in the Department daily to meet strategic objectives.

You may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia.


+ Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus five (5) years of Construction Management experience; or Master's degree in relevant field plus one (1) year of Construction Management experience; or Doctorate in relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.


+ Experience with Newforma, Primavera and/or Microsoft Project.
+ At least 1 year of experience working within SNL processes and procedures
+ Pursuit/completion of an advanced technical degree in construction/project management or related field.
+ Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
+ Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
+ Understanding of Facilities processes such as O&M, Projects, and Document Management.
+ Strong organizational, negotiation, time management, and leadership skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
+ Solid understanding of construction requirements such as building codes and OSHA requirements.
+ Ability to lead technical teams to solutions while balancing objectives such as cost, schedule, performance, quality and safety.
+ Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems with high level of detail.
+ Ability to implement system processes utilizing the latest technical approaches, handle frequent changing priorities, and coordinate multiple activities.

Department Description:

The Projects Team is aligned with the mission to provide direct support for all products and services. We develop, manage, and deliver projects and provide engineering and design for building and infrastructure systems. Within this team are several departments who over see small (~$50K) to very large (>$10M) projects such as design-bid-build and design-build of new facilities, that are customer and direct funded.

The Customer Operations Support Department provides expedited and rapid turnaround engineering design and construction support (referred to as Facilities Express FE) for small projects (typically ranging from $1K to $100K) that are identified and funded by line organizations. We also provide inspection, safety, and work acceptance support for all construction projects performed at Sandia National Laboratories to ensure construction code compliance

Project and Construction Management executes Customer Funded (CF) projects from initiation, design, construction, and close-out. CF sized projects are large endeavors and modifications starting at $300k and up to and including congressional line-items.
