Customer Operations is seeking individuals to help us deliver extraordinary customer value as an Operations Technologist\. The Operations Technologist will assist the Operations and Engineering Lead in day\-to\-day operations, ensuring building operations are functioning properly, providing necessary communication and activity coordination within the assigned customer base\. Responsibilities include responding to line customer calls in a timely manner, championing timely resolution of issues, validating and routing service requests, and performing regular walk\-throughs of assigned buildings\.

Job Summary

Using facilities expertise, plans and directs facilities projects, coordinating with customers and with work performed in other departments\. May negotiate with customer on customer requirements and limitations\. Directly supports and oversees operational capabilities within facilities, including construction safety, permitting, document control, space database, energy monitoring system, and information technology applications\. Procures and coordinates associated contract resources\. Communicates and provides training to staff and users\.

Primary Job Duties

Using facilities expertise, plans and directs facilities projects and contracts, coordinating with customers and with work performed in other departments\. May negotiate with customer on customer requirements and limitations\. Continuously reviews status of projects and budgets, develops timetables, and conducts technical design reviews\. Prepares or directs preparation of planning, design, and construction documents; status reports; and other documentation\. Recommends addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects\. Directly supports and oversees operational capabilities within facilities, including construction safety, permitting, document control, space database, energy monitoring system, and information technology applications\. Supports facilities staff by conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affect facilities, including space planning, design options, construction methods, and other operations and maintenance issues\.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and experience in most aspects of project management and project control activities, with the ability to become proficient in all\. Experience in developing operating and financial plans\. Some knowledge and skill in prime contract formation, negotiation, and administration\. Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, infrastructure operations, maintenance, and construction techniques, including their interfaces and interdependencies\. Strong oral and written communication skills\. Ability to apply team building concepts\.

Required:

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Technology; or a minimum of 5 years experience in Facilities Management
+ Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, infrastructure operations, maintenance, and construction techniques, including their interfaces and interdependencies
+ Knowledge of facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures, such as operations, maintenance, projects, and document management
+ Knowledge and experience in most aspects of project management and project control activities, with the ability to become proficient in all
+ Experience in developing operating and financial plans
+ Some knowledge and skill in prime contract formation, negotiation, and administration
+ Detail oriented problem\-solver, skilled in partnership and self\-management
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to exercise initiative as well as the acumen to lead and complete multiple priorities
+ Competency in Microsoft Office suite of applications \(Word, Excel, PowerPoint\)

Desired:

+ Experience using IBM Maximo software or similar
+ Completion of OSHA 30\-hour training and general knowledge of building codes/ADA requirements
+ Project Management or Construction Management certifications
+ IFMA certification

Department Description:

The Customer Operations Department is responsible for providing Operational, Systems, and Maintenance Engineering solutions and support throughout the CA site with intentional alignment to Mission Areas and Site Planning\. The team coordinates planned reliability\-based operations, provides maintenance support, and manages all service and utility contracts\. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
