We are seeking a seasoned executive to lead Sandia National Laboratories Infrastructure Operations Division as an Associate Laboratories Director, reporting directly to the highest levels of the Laboratories. This ALD will sit on the Laboratories Senior Leadership Team alongside the Deputy Labs Director and other peers who lead divisions. The ALD of Infrastructure Operations leads an employee and contractor workforce of more than 1,000 in three centers: Safeguards & Security; Infrastructure Services; and Facilities & Emergency Management. This role is responsible for every facet of structural and personnel security; the construction and maintenance of new and existing buildings ; and the effective and efficient emergency management.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Provide leadership in the following capacities:

- In the overall management for the Government-owned and Contractor-operated (GOCO) facilities.
- In conjunction with the Contracting Officer and the Mission Associate Laboratories Directors, the facilities and infrastructure for scientific research that satisfy the DOE/NNSA programmatic needs.
- In the design of construction activities for all projects to include the documentation of project management.
- In the collaboration with other NNSA contractors.
+ Develop and manage the emergency management program to include the Radiological Assistance Program, supporting Sandias Accident Response Group and the Joint Tactical Operations team.
+ Conduct action reviews after incidents to ensure up-to-date emergency management response procedures.
+ Develop human capital plans for the Infrastructure Operations Division.
+ Evaluate, approve, and direct organizational studies and organization designs to maximize resource allocations and assure successful mission fulfillment.
+ Provide leadership and direction for multiple functional areas.
+ Create relationships across the laboratories and with external parties to reach consensus on complex strategic issues, demonstrating cultural and individual differences among parties to maximize success; champion team decisions.
+ Improve organizational efficiency while concurrently improving overall organizational performance.
+ Manage a $300M budget (annual)


+ Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering or related technical discipline plus fifteen (15) years' experience in an operations leadership role or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
+ Five (5) or more years experience in operating a large facilities' organization to include complex high-consequence operations.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q- Level Clearance.


+ Advanced degree in Engineering/Science or MBA preferred.
+ Project Management Professional Certification preferred plus a Six Sigma certification (Green belt, Black belt, LEAN).
+ Senior management-level strategy development.
+ Strong business insight with the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences (customers, suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and Finance).
+ Proven ability to collaborate with functions with direct responsibility for the successful integration of complex systems.
+ Ability to manage business and organizational vision by communicating a compelling purpose, inspiring change cross-organizationally, and inspiring and motivating people and organizations.
+ Integrative thinking with a demonstrated ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems with due consideration for business and strategic consequences.
+ Be a change agent with a continual focus on growing value to the customer plus a proven track record of leading operations in a multi-site environment.
+ Demonstrated leadership and partnership across a diverse, multi-mission organization to include a commitment to diversity & inclusion across the workforce.
