The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) at the University of Oklahoma is seeking candidates to fill one tenure-track position in mechanical engineering at the Assistant Professor level in the area of computational modeling and simulation of energy systems in support of sustainable buildings and communities.
The position is part of a strategic university Smart Grid and Community research and education initiative. Candidates who are interested in working collaboratively and collegially with faculty in AME and across the college and university are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas are of particular interest for the position:
Successful candidates are expected to develop a nationally recognized research program, mentor and nurture undergraduate and graduate students, and promote an inclusive environment inside and outside the classroom
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Candidates are invited to submit a statement of teaching, a research plan, a curriculum vitae, a commitment to diversity statement, and a list of at least three references. Candidates should discuss how they have or intend to promote the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the diversity statement. Review of candidates will begin on February 15, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. The start date for the position is expected to be August 16, 2021.
