You could be the Business Development Professional we are seeking to support Sandia's Academic Alliance team in the development of strategic direction for future business, programs and research investments! In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external partnership leaders. You will participate in development and implementation of long-range objectives by identifying strategic issues that could affect research, mission and partnerships growth and performance. You will scan the environment and utilize competitive intelligence to monitor national and international issues related to Sandia National Laboratories' mission. You will create internal and external briefs and presentations on strategy, needs, and trends;and create qualitative insight reports that identify key findings and segment audiences by opportunity.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Facilitate communications and initiatives between internal and external partners
+ Develop success metrics and tools for the program and provide reporting on results
+ Provide project planning and management
+ Foster internal and external partnerships
+ Establish partnership engagement plans
+ Evaluate mission opportunities for further engagement and develop technical value propositions

+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 5 years relevant experience in a high tech, government, or academic setting
+ Experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Business, program, or project planning and management
- Customer relationship management techniques
- Success metrics development and reporting
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance


+ Demonstrated ability to succeed in a cross-disciplinary team
+ Experience integrating with a spatially dispersed team
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management
+ Business development experience in Science and Technology related fields

Department Description:

Sandia National Laboratories has created a strategic partnership program of Academic Alliances with a select set of top universities across the country, including: University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; University of Texas at Austin; Georgia Tech; University of New Mexico; and Purdue University. Consistent with the objectives of the Academic Alliance Program, Sandia has committed to deepen its institutional relationship with these universities and agreed to three high-level partnership goals: solving the nations significant technical problems, sustaining and engaging human capital, and accelerating the adoption of new technologies. This program is part of the CRO Research and Academic Programs group (1970) and supports Sandias relationship with these schools to spearhead partnership development, technology transfer, and enhance recruiting efforts. In addition, 1970 is responsible for stewarding Sandias partnerships with New Mexico universities - New Mexico State University and New Mexico Tech through Sandias Campus Executive program to build mutually beneficial joint research and educational programs that strengthen Sandias science and technology capabilities and enhance the overall NM research ecosystem.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
