A High\-Risk Security Professional is needed to serve as a Program Security Officer \(PSO\) for Special Access Programs \(SAP\)\. The PSOs roles and responsibilities include:

+ Are the primary security resources for SAPs; provide program and facility security administration and management\.
+ Draft and execute local security plans and procedures\.
+ Implement sponsor security requirements\.
+ Facilitate inspections of special access areas and annual SAP self\-assessments, as required\.
+ Coordinate with the SNL security organizations for mutual assistance, information sharing, and training\.
+ Assist the SAP Program Managers with security matters as needed\.
+ As appropriate, meet with the SAP Executive Management to provide a summary of security\-related issues\.
+ Reports all security incidents to specified authorities; investigates, documents, and reports incidents; and provides protective and corrective measures in response to such incidents as appropriate\.
+ Work closely with NNSA SFO and NNSA HQ security representatives, SNL and NNSA program managers to manage security while enabling mission deliverables\.
+ Participate in facility construction/modification activities to ensure security requirements are integrated into the facility design\.

Required:

+ Five or more years of experience serving as program security staff for Special Access Programs
+ A bachelors degree in a technical or security\-related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.

+ Self\-directed, customer focused, and have strong interpersonal and teaming skills\.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple concurrent activities to meet a variety of customer requirements with changing priorities and short deadlines is essential\.
+ Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills are required\.
+ Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a security\-related discipline\.
+ Existing experience in program and/or operations management of SAPs\.
+ Experience working with all levels of Sandia and DOE/NNSA personnel; broad understanding of security processes\.
+ Experience as an inquiry official\.
+ Derivative Classifier designation in safeguards and security areas
+ Experience with or desire to learn program management; familiarity with and implementation of Cyber Security requirements into daily operations\.
+ Familiarity with ICD\-705 construction requirements, JAFAN or DOD 5205 security standards\.
+ Active DOE/DOD security clearance\.
+ Ability to qualify for an SCI clearance

Department Description:

The Special Security Organization manages the security program for Special Access Programs\. The staff supports a number of very dynamic projects that require dedicated individuals to multitask for frequently changing priorities\. The security staff work closely with their counterparts in New Mexico on common programs which are managed under the same requirements\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
