The Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering in the School of Engineering and the College of Engineering and Sciences at Purdue University Northwest, campus in Hammond, Indiana invites applications for a visiting assistant professor (not tenure eligible) position in Mechanical Engineering. The position will start August 14, 2017.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, with a focus in the area of solid mechanics, which must be completed by July 1, 2017.

Primary responsibilities for the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in mechanical engineering (including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, Dynamics of Physical System, Controls, Machine Design, and FEA for dual level), and advising and mentoring undergraduate senior design students at both the Hammond and Westville campus.
