Description: Description About the Position: Providing oversight to accounting activities to support the remediation efforts and strategic guidance of audit processes; leading and coordinating audit processes that impact financial and regulatory reporting results under both U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); l eading the strategic direction of the material weaknesses remediation process; implementing appropriate audit and remediation policies, internal controls, accounting standards and procedures to drive performance; ensuring accurate and credible data for accounting processes and operations; leading projects and the review of remediation practices; directing audits of US GAAP filings, and where applicable International Financial Reporting Standards and ensuring proper communication to the business and audit committees; leading audit coordination and preparation with finance leadership; improving predictability of results through accurate data to reduce risk and protect the company; liaising with managers across finance and the business to ensure alignment on finance audit coordination processes and providing necessary subject matter expertise; providing counsel to team members and managing third-party consultants and contractors; and managing a team with the focus on team member development of regulatory knowledge, cross-functional skills, allocating / monitoring tasks, motivating and retaining staff and managing performance. The position has three director reports: Director, Finance Process; Director, Plant Accounting; and Executive Assistant. Background check may apply. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in any field Eight years of experience in providing audit, regulatory and financial reporting, and assurance to public utility companies including three years of experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the COSO Internal Control and US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS.
