The Pratt and Whitney Global Services Engineering Validation organization performs technical reviews in support of engine component repair technical and substantiating data. The Validation Manager���s responsibilities include, leading a team of repair Validation Experts, driving validation quality and consistency in accordance with GSE���s Engineering Standard Work, and ensuring proper showing of compliance to regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Associate Director, GSE���s FAA DER���s. The successful candidate will have repair validation and regulatory knowledge, specifically Title 14 CFR Parts 21, 33, 39 & 145, and is able to coach, mentor and train the GSE Validation Team through the repair validation process. Additional responsibilities include oversite of the Validation Teams work prioritization and scheduling, interface with GSE Programs and Project Teams, assist in financial and manpower planning, issuance of weekly metrics and monthly reports. As part of the repair validation process the Validation Manager will interact with GSE Sector Managers, development engineers, structural analysis engineers, metallurgists, CIPT���s, DER���s, Engine & Component Repair Stations and P&WC Design Approval Appointee���s to ensure repairs meet all technical and substantiation requirements allowing Regulatory Finding of Compliance. Knowledge and the ability to review understand and interpret technical data such as engine certification and test reports, structural analysis reports, systems analysis, service documents, engine performance & operability, repair and manufacturing processes is required. An in-depth knowledge of FAA Orders, Advisory materials and other guidance materials is required. The ability to determine export Jurisdiction & Classification of engineering repair data is necessary. The use of ACE tools and systems including QCPC is required.| Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Advanced degree desirable. DER delegation per FAA Order 8110.37, Chart E, A1-A7, including special delegation of major repairs and major alterations.| Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in gas turbine engine design / development and/or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) industry. Direct working experience with the FAA.
