Pratt & Whitney’s Global Services Engineering organization has a unique opportunity for a compliance oriented and seasoned aerospace, aviation or aircraft engineer interested in a technical and regulatory career as a representative for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This will position the selected candidate on the career growth path to ultimately become an FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) for Pratt & Whitney Upon hire, the selected candidate will work closely with experienced aftermarket FAA DER’s to perform regulatory compliance assessments and technical document reviews for commercial turbine engine component repairs. This experience will enable the individual to master the competencies and independently evaluate repairs for correct technical content, accuracy and adherence to Pratt & Whitney Engineering Standard Work. The individual is expected to become a Practitioner Level 3 in repair design and develop design competencies for all engine components from inlet to exhaust. As part of the repair validation process the individual must utilize their interpersonal strengths to effectively communicate with repair development engineers, structural analysis engineers, metallurgists, CIPT’s, DER’s, and P&WC Design Approval Appointee’s to ensure repairs meet all technical and substantiation requirements and allow Regulatory Finding of Compliance. FAA Orders, Engine Certification Technical Data, Test Reports, Structural Analysis Reports, Systems Analysis, Service Documents, Engine Performance & Operability, Repair and Manufacturing Processes, Advisory and other guidance materials

BS Degree in a related Engineering discipline requiredAdvanced Degree desired

Basic Qualifications: BS Degree in a related Engineering discipline requiredMust have a minimum of 10+ years of related
engineering experience working with FAA regulated engines with knowledge and understanding in the following Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree desired Experience in gas turbine engine design / development and/or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) industryAbility to determine export Jurisdiction & Classification of engineering repair data ACE Operating system knowledgePWRSR
