Description: Description About the position: Tower Leads will act as the single point of contact (Functional CIO) and be responsible for their designated functional Tower. Through this partnership they will be responsible for the IS strategy, architecture and roadmap for the function they support. The Tower Lead will be responsible for the Solution Delivery for the tower in addition to supporting and coordinating all regulatory requests including rates cases and mandates. The Tower Lead will coordinate all other IS functions and be an active member of the US IS Leadership Team.
Job responsibilities including but not limited to:

Act as the single face and single point of accountability for IS for the functional towers. Develop strong business relationships and partner with functional business leaders to develop a deep business understanding and create multi-year IT plans that are aligned with the functions goals and delivered to time, quality and cost. Lead development of 3-5 year IS roadmaps embedded within the business strategy. Responsible for annual Strategic and investment plans for their towers. Be accountable for the Business functions IS need and Mega Processes for their tower. Be a secondary owner of 1-2 other mega processes that are not directly in their domain. Support development of cross-functional rate cases and be accountable for the functional and process aspects that fall within their domain. Lead the priority setting, sequencing and risk management of tower projects and programs, resulting in a portfolio of projects and programs for the current year as well as the multi-year investments and deliverables. Ensure that all programs are regulatory compliant and anticipate near-term technology changes. Responsible for developing both annual and long term financial budgets for IS for their function. Build and maintain a flexible, responsive, credible tower that has a high sense of urgency, is customer-oriented, exceptionally responsive, and delivers cost-effective business value. Responsible for developing the technical architecture for the function. Lead a team of Domain Technical Architects, Solution architects, business analysts and IS delivery managers for the function. Ensure regular Service Performance Reviews are held with key stakeholders to ensure IS performance is delivered in line with service expectations. Maintain awareness of IS service issues through formalized review sessions with key stakeholders, and establish metrics for publishing performance statistics to all relevant stakeholders. Work with direct reports and wider team to champion the development of IT leadership and professional talent, ensuring that effective IT leadership is in place and succession bench strength is defined. Work with human resources, develop a culture that attracts and retains top IT talent.

Qualifications Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:

Significant previous experience in [E.g., Financial Systems or Finance] related IT Business Relationship role 10+ years’ experience managing or influencing technical staff and project teams Proven success in facilitating the development of and implementation of business initiatives, as well as improving the customer experience and demonstrating the value of IT to the business Experience working within a matrix structure Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business/Commerce, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (Required) Master’s Degree in Finance, Business/Commerce, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (Preferred)

Knowledge & Technical Know-how:

10+ years of experience in IT leadership gained at highly respected organizations known for best practices and business value delivery in a regulated environment. Experience implementing major programs for key technology or business process for their Tower or Domain Experience delivering programs in large ERP companies with multi-regional and or global footprint Experience delivering solutions (e.g., SAP HANA, Hadoop, Maximo) Experience delivering energy and commodity trading platforms (e.g., Allegro) Exposure to the Oracle publishing product suite Strong financial and/or accounting acumen Ability to manage large multi-million dollar budgets Shaping of IS strategy aligned with National Grid’s strategy Function budget and financial management accountability Highly developed skills in working through major organizational change Collaboration with a wide variety of internal stakeholders Talent management and driving team performance Excellent communication and presentation skills Technical credibility and independent judgment and decision-making responsibilities Strong supplier and commercial management skills Good awareness of commercial commitments and liabilities Ability to interface across Global Service Delivery at all levels
