Description: Description About the Position:
The National Grid CyberIntelligence and Analysis program is part of the Cyber Security Operationswithin Digital Risk and Security and is responsible for providing indicationsand warning of suspected cyber-attacks directed against National Gridfacilitated by various threat actors. The CyberIntelligence Manager will provide management and technicalanalysis to understand, quantify, and predict the actions of threat actors toNational Grid.
The role will lead the technical analysts responsible fordeveloping the collection, processing, analysis and reporting of cyber threatsto National Grid, the threat actors associated and their motivation, capabilityand intent in order that Cyber Security Operations and National Grid canappropriately assign resources and systems for their defense.
The Cyber IntelligenceManager will manage the US intelligence operationsconsisting to daily technical threat analysis, collaborating with core threatand security teams, and producing actionable intelligence in the form ofalerts, reports, and briefings. In addition, the Cyber Intelligence Managerwill be responsible for interacting with Information Sharing and Analysis Center’s,Peer Institutions. Government agencies, Security agencies, and other industryInformation Sharing and Analysis Organizations.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Accountable for ensuring that key cyber threats are identified,addressed and resolved in a manner that satisfies the business. Assisting in the development of a plan analyse and disseminateactionable intelligence gathered from a variety of commercial, government,industry, open-source, deep web, and social media sources delivered instructured, semi-structured, and unstructured formats and lead groupcollaboration and analysis. Producing various intelligence alerts, reports, and briefings. Providing intelligence analysis based on KeyIntelligence Topics and generating specific intelligence requirements based onthese Topics/Questions to create specific collection plans used to focus theanalysis and reporting actionable intelligence. Main Interfaces:
Interfacingwith US and UK Cyber Intelligence, Analysis, Penetration Testing, and AdvancedAdversary operational teams. Collaboratingwith US and UK CSOC staff consisting of security operations, incidentmanagement, forensics, and threat hunting teams. Interacting with other members within theDigital Risk and Security Cyber Security Operations organization.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
Educated to degree levelor post graduate level (equivalent combination of education and experience) inCyber Intelligence or Security related subject. SecurityQualifications such as SANs SEC487: Open-Source Intelligence Gathering andAnalysis, FOR578: Cyber Threat Intelligence, GCIA, GCIH, GCDA, GPEN, or similartraining and certification. Theposition requires experience managing an intelligence product portfolioconsisting of alerts, reports, and briefings and requires the ability topresent technical topic to various stakeholders. Establisha threat modelling methodology to identify, classify, prioritize and report oncyber threats using a structured approach Theposition requires an experienced, technical cyber intelligence subject matterexpert, and disciplined thinker, capable of working across organisationalboundaries in a demanding environment to analyse cyber threats that could impactthe National Grid infrastructure and services of customers. Requiresdemonstrable capability to produce intelligence products at Strategic,Operational and Tactical levels, and conducting detailed technical analytics. Goodorganisational skills, time management, attention to detail and accuracy overmultiple simultaneous activities. Must bepro-active, adaptable and results driven, whilst capable of interpreting anddelivering on direction provided. Theposition requires a team player who must be able to work under pressure, managemultiple activities, using their own initiative and motivation to meetdeadlines and set priorities without close supervision. Providerecommendations in a consumable format to senior management on cyber intelligenceanalysis and threat trends. Supportthe Security Operations Center with enriched intelligence analysis andreporting. Previousknowledge working in an intelligence operation consisting of collection,analysis and production of cyber threat intelligence, including both automatedintelligence feeds and human-consumable intelligence, with good knowledge andunderstanding of the systems and processes that enable this. Experienceworking with the Mitre ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Kill Chain, Diamond Model,or similar frameworks and concepts.
