Description: Description About the Position:
The National Grid Cyber Intelligence andAnalysis program is part of the Cyber Security Operations within Digital Riskand Security and is responsible for providing indications and warning ofsuspected cyber-attacks directed against National Grid facilitated by variousthreat actors. The US Senior Cyber IntelligenceAnalyst will provide technical analysis tounderstand, quantify, and predict the actions of threat actors to NationalGrid.
The role will lead the technical analystsresponsible for developing the collection, processing, analysis and reportingof cyber threats to National Grid, the threat actors associated and theirmotivation, capability and intent in order that Cyber Security Operations andNational Grid can appropriately assign resources and systems for their defense.The Senior Cyber Intelligence Analyst will lead daily technical threatanalysis, collaborate with core threat and security teams, and produceactionable intelligence in the form of alerts, reports, and briefings.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Accountable for ensuring that key cyber threats are identified, addressed and resolved in a manner that satisfies the business. Assisting in the development of a plan analyse and disseminate actionable intelligence gathered from a variety of commercial, government, industry, open-source, deep web, and social media sources delivered in structured, semi-structured, and unstructured formats and lead group collaboration and analysis. Producing various intelligence alerts, reports, and briefings. Providing intelligence analysis based on Key Intelligence Topics and generating specific intelligence requirements based on these Topics/Questions to create specific collection plans used to focus the analysis and reporting actionable intelligence. Main Interfaces: Interfacingwith US and UK Cyber Intelligence, Analysis, Penetration Testing, and AdvancedAdversary operational teams. Collaboratingwith US and UK CSOC staff consisting of security operations, incidentmanagement, forensics, and threat hunting teams. Interacting with other members within theDigital Risk and Security Cyber Security Operations organization.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
Educated to degree levelor post graduate level (equivalent combination of education and experience) inCyber Intelligence or Security related subject. SecurityQualifications such as SANs SEC487: Open-Source Intelligence Gathering andAnalysis, FOR578: Cyber Threat Intelligence, GCIA, GCIH, GCDA, GPEN, or similartraining and certification. The position requires an experienced, technicalcyber intelligence subject matter expert, and disciplined thinker, capable ofworking across organisational boundaries in a demanding environment to analyse cyberthreats that could impact the National Grid infrastructure and services ofcustomers. Requires demonstrable capability to produceintelligence products at Strategic, Operational and Tactical levels, and conductingdetailed technical analytics. Good organisational skills, time management,attention to detail and accuracy over multiple simultaneous activities. Must be pro-active, adaptable and resultsdriven, whilst capable of interpreting and delivering on direction provided. The position requires a team player who must beable to work under pressure, manage multiple activities, using their owninitiative and motivation to meet deadlines and set priorities without closesupervision. Provide recommendations in a consumable formatto senior management on cyber intelligence analysis and threat trends. Support the Security Operations Center withenriched intelligence analysis and reporting. Previous knowledge working in an intelligenceoperation consisting of collection, analysis and production of cyber threatintelligence, including both automated intelligence feeds and human-consumableintelligence, with good knowledge and understanding of the systems andprocesses that enable this. Familiarity with the Mitre ATT&CK, LockheedMartin Kill Chain, Diamond Model, or similar frameworks and concepts. Strongwriting and presentation skills to communicate findings and recommendations todifferent audiences and stakeholders.
