Position Summary:

Pentair is currently seeking a Product Reliability Engineer. This position is a great opportunity for creative, curious, solution-minded people to join and be part of our New Product Development Team (NPD). We are customer centric and are developing new innovative products that require an enthusiastic and dedicated teammate to help us realize our strategic initiatives. As a key team member you will develop, design and facilitate performance and reliability testing on various engineered products and components.   Partner with Continuation Engineering, Quality and NPD to develop test procedures for long term product reliability, product quality analysis and new product concepts.Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates test protocols for pumps, heat pumps, filtration systems and other products and components to measure performance to product specifications

  • Develops testing techniques that represent product operating conditions and field applications

  • Conducts field visits to customer sites to collect product application information and data for root cause analysis of failure modes; applies this knowledge to testing techniques for future analysis.

  • Consults with SME’s regarding testing procedures to ensure robust techniques and to review test results as required

  • Utilizes reliability engineering disciplines such as Weibull Analysis, Accelerated Life Testing and Design of Experiments to drive test methodology and data analysis

  • Understands and tests within regulatory agency guidelines, industry code and governmental requirements as applicable to our products

  • Assists in competitive product evaluation process

  • Investigates test equipment/facilities needs, writes capital requests to justify equipment purchase and coordinates installation of the equipment

  • Assists in the development of product validation methods, plans and processes

  • Supports in identifying training needs for lab personnel

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Science or other related fields

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Test/Reliability Engineer

  • Experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic testing of systems and components

  • Proven problem solving ability with experience in root cause analysis, statistical ayalysis and other problem solving tools

  • Certification in Reliability Engineering and use of tools such as Weibull analysis preferred

     

  • Experience in reliability testing and tools such as Weibull analysis preferred

  • Experience with test procedure creation and test plan creation and administration

  • Familiarity with GD&T preferred

  • Experience with PLC’s and DAQ systems is desirable

  • Experience in managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
