Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge (PWCF) business is looking for a QA Technical Team Member to provide procedural and technical knowledge to Quality leadership and a large team of Quality Inspectors and Supervisors. PWCF manufactures precision forged compressor airfoils and isothermally forged disks for multiple commercial and military engine programs.

A team member at this level is expected to perform a wide variety of complex inspection procedures and related paperwork, lend expertise to resolving inspection process problems, measure parts dimensionally and learn visual standards to accept/reject parts.

Help with QA activities within the Document and Data Control Center; including but not limited to, maintaining the Quality Management System, investigation of customer complaints and returns, manage internal and external auditing, assist with root cause investigation of scrap and rework activities, manage non-conforming part process, manage internal Corrective Action Request (CAR) system, become qualified as source inspector and training of inspection personnel
. Drives product and process improvements that ensure that the site’s quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Throughput and Process Certification).Occasional traveling required.


Work with team to develop policies, procedures, systems and a training plan to ensure quality requirements, quality enhancements and cost competitiveness are met.

  • Support manufacturing by providing quality/process improvements where and when required.
  • Study and evaluate requirements to determine need for change/modification. Assist shop personnel when new or existing procedures require explanation or when difficulties are encountered in processes.
  • Utilize computer systems to classify or retrieve new or redesigned procedures associated with modifications, testing, parts and/or tooling.
  • Prepare written reports of assigned phases or advanced proposals or other technical evaluations.

Must be willing to work the off shift.
