Technical Leader – PDU Transmission, Lenox Lab 
Lenox, MA

The Position:
The Lenox Technical Leader will be onsite in Lenox, MA and is responsible for scheduling and facilitation of the preparation for and implementation of testing defined in the Test Plans.  This position  will be accountable for the collection, organization, and storage of test data. 

Organizes the external and interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget. May conduct research directly in complex, high impact technical or scientific fields.

Job Functions:
• Managing the Transmission, Distribution, and Substations (TD&S) test schedule.
• Reviewing Test Plans created by Test Managers (TM)
• Working with Resource Technical Leads (RTL) and the Lenox Lab Manager to develop a budget and time-line for each Test Plan
• Ensuring that the required resources (human and physical) are available for the testing
• Ensuring that the test setup is ready prior to arrival of the TM for testing
• Daily monitoring of how each test is going, and working with the EPRI staff to resolve testing issues as they arise.
• When further testing is needed without the TM present, ensuring that:

  • The tests are implemented as per test plan

  • That the data is collected

  • Feedback is given at least daily to the TM

    • Working with lab staff and EPRI IT to ensure accurate collection and storage of testing data that is organized, secure, and backed up.
    • Additional technical tasks as assigned/appropriate.
    • Ability to apply technical knowledge to industry issues and gain input on needs from members/stakeholders and identify current and emerging technical issues.

  •  May provide oversight of a project team to assure technical and financial milestones are met

  •  Communicates strategies and results, written and verbal, to program managers through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts,

  •  Manages small or medium (less complex) projects including budgets and resources

    Education Level and Years of Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required
    • 5 -7 or more years of research and development project and promotional experience, including development of advanced concepts for internal  research or equivalent experience.
    • Education and/or experience in project management
    • Preferred experience working in a high-voltage environment.
    • Preferred experience working in a research and development field.
    • Experience with EPRI processes and procedures is a plus.
     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate complex science and technical issues in a way that can influence both the internal technical community,
    • Requires little day to day supervision. Receives direction and guidance to set high level priorities.
    • Ability to communicate science and technical studies and results in a manner that exhibits technical expertise but also is easily understood by energy stakeholders.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Individual contributor

EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
